Introduction

The n joy pothos is a variegated pothos, with white borders to the leaves and big green patches. It’s a real beauty. It looks really stunning, almost like it is painted. It has a compact growth pattern. As they are very variegated you want to give them as much indirect sunlight as you can. We run down all you need to know.

Light Needs

Medium to bright indirect sunlight is a good range.

Tip: they don’t want to get burned by direct sun, but they need good light to encourage variegation so give them good indirect sunlight but no direct.

How Often to Water An N Joy Pothos

Check the soil of your n’joy with your finger once a week and water if the top 50% or more is dry.

Fertilizer

Use a well diluted balanced plant feed every month in the spring and summer months.

N Joy Pothos Soil

A standard potting mix will do fine, but you can add 20% perlite to the mix to reduce the chance of rot.

When To Repot

Repot them when the roots get crowded. Be sure the check them in spring, they will need a good amount of space to grow over the spring and summer as they grow quickly.

Humidity

50% and above humidity is best, they are tropical houseplants after all.

N Joy Pothos Temperature

They will do well in most homes as long as they don’t get cold in winter (keep them above 10°C / 50°F), aim for 18°C to 23°C (64-73°F) during the day.

How To Propagate N Joy Pothos

They are easy to propagate. Take a cutting with at least one node that will go under water, and one or two leaves above water. Put it in a jar of filtered tap water to root. They root fairly quickly in a month or so, then you put them in their own pot of soil.

For more on propagating pothos see out guide here: Pothos Propagation.

N Joy Pothos USDA Zone

N Joy pothos can live outdoors year round in zones 10-11.

Is It Toxic To Cats?

They are mildly to moderately toxic to cats. So seek vets advice. The insoluble calcium oxalates can cause numbness and vomiting if eaten.

Njoy Pothos Vs Pearls And Jade

They both have white and green variegation, but the pearls and jade has more cream and more marbling where the colors meet. There is no marbling on the njoy.

Njoy Pothos Vs Glacier

The njoy has thinner leaves with pointed leaves and the glacier has some silvery green in its variegation.

Njoy Pothos Vs Manjula

The manjula has a lot of marbling on it, and the njoy doesn’t have any marbling it has separate green and white areas.

Can Njoy Pothos Grow In Water?

They can grow in water indefinitely. Just keep it topped up. Only change the water if it goes cloudy, it shouldn’t go cloudy if you stop leaves falling in it. They look great on display where you can see the roots growing too.

Can Njoy Pothos Revert?

They can revert to just green, the most common reason for this is too low light. You can move it to brighter light (but no direct sun) and then cut the reverted parts back to the node. This can help to encourage new variegated growth.

Can Njoy Pothos Have Speckles?

They do not have speckles, the green is just green and the white just white, with no marbling or speckles, like other variegated pothos.

Are Njoy Pothos Slow Growing?

They are slow growing for a pothos, the variegated areas do not photosynthesize as well as green areas. But it is none the less a great and easy to grow houseplant.

N joy Pothos Brown Spots

They can get brown edges from a lack of water or humidity, as well as from sunburn. So make sure the plant gets enough water and light, but no direct sun.

Is It Patented?

Yes it is for more info see the patent here.
