5 Types Of Calathea You Need In Your Life

Welcome to our article on 5 types of calathea you need in your life! Calatheas are leafy tropical houseplants that come in many different varieties, some with coloured stipes and dots, and others with patterned white and pink variegations. Their leaves vary in shape too. They are relatively cheap compared to the much hyped monsteras and philodendrons which fetch much higher prices today.

Here we run down five types of calathea varieties we love…

Calathea Triostar

The calathea triostar is known for it´s thin green, white and pink thin leaves that form in star shape out from the center. This is a real stunner, and it is cheap too, small ones go for 20 euros or less on Etsy. I love these.

Calathea Zebrina

Striking dark and light green striped foliage make this a must have plant that stands out in any room. They go for 30 euros or less online, what are you waiting for?!

Calathea Lancifolia

I have a really small Lancifolia that I bought young and am growing it out. The patterned thin leaves are absolutely beautiful. I got a small rooted plant from plnts.com for 5 euros.

Calathea White Fusion

This is my favourite of the five I’ve listed here today, the variegation make the green leaves look like they have been dipped in wet white paint. If you only get one, get this one. They go for 50 or so euros on Etsy.

Calathea Orbifolia

The orbifolia is the classic calathea that has become one of the most popular due to it’s huge, patterned leaves. They go for under 30 euros.
