Introduction

The Sansevieria Black Coral (aka Black Coral Snake Plant) is a dark green and black snake plant, one for the goths out there!

Sansevieria Black Coral Light Needs

Bright indirect sunlight is ideal as they are a succulent and will thrive in bright light. Not too much direct sun though, although some early morning direct sun can be good for it.

How Often To Water

The best thing to do is to check the soil weekly with your finger and only water the plant if the soil is dry all the way down. Do not be tempted to over do it, as they can get root rot easily.

Tip: make sure you do not water the plant until the soil is completely dry all the way down, as the biggest killer of succulents is root rot. Pay special attention when the temperatures drop and the end of summer as the soil may still be wet because the plant needs less water when it is colder. If in doubt, underwater it!

Fertilizer

Use a dedicated succulent feed every 3 weeks in the summer.

When to Repot

You can repot them when they get root bound, it will not be every year. Check them at the start and end of the growing season to make sure they have space.

40%. They do not need any special humidity requirements. Do not spray them!

Aim for 18°C-30°C (65-85°F) during the day and above 5°C (41°F) at night.

How to Propagate Sansevieria Black Coral

You propagate it easily with a cutting, take one of the ‘snakes’ and cut it into a few pieces and then let them callous over. Make sure you know which way up they were on the plant, mark with a pen if you have to. Put them in moist soil to root they must be the same way up as they were on the plant. Keep them moist but not soaking wet and they will root over the next 2 or 3 months.
